Abu Dhabi Maritime said it will provide free ferry transportation on the Dalma Island/Jabel Dhanna route during the 6th Dalma Race Festival in the Al Dhafra area from April 28 to May 15.
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club, Abu Dhabi Festivals and Heritage Planning Committee, the Dalma Race Festival will see more than 3,000 sailors race historic 60-foot traditional dhows over 80 nautical miles (125 km) over 18 days There are also a series of family celebrations.
To ensure that the local community can experience one of the biggest phenomena in traditional maritime sports, Abu Dhabi Maritime, part of the AD Ports Group, will allow passengers to travel on the Dalma Island/Jabel Dhanna ferry for free, regardless of direction, during the festive period. Additional evening services will also be scheduled during the festival to further enjoy the festivities.
