Recent research shows that the average person in the UAE now uses a total of seven apps or digital services when looking for or applying for a new job.

According to Cisco AppDynamics, social media platforms (70%), company websites (65%) and career sites (63%) are the top three apps/digital services that UAE consumers rely on to find a job. Data shows that a third of job seekers use at least one of these services on a daily basis.

With the hunt for talent intensifying across many industries, the study reveals the importance UAE job seekers place on digital experience. 83% of respondents said they want to work for an employer that provides a seamless digital experience throughout the hiring process. 63% claimed that they would not be able to work for the employer in question if the applications were not able to perform.

The study surveyed more than 12,000 consumers in 12 countries, including 1,000 in the UAE.

“Expectations for digital experiences have skyrocketed over the past few years as people in the UAE have come to rely more and more on the convenience and flexibility that apps and digital services provide in almost every aspect of their lives. At the same time, people are using these apps There has also been a heightened response to problems. In a competitive labor market, there are no second chances for employers – at the first sign of a problem using an app or digital service, many job seekers will walk away immediately. ” commented James Harvey, CTO Advisor, Cisco AppDynamics.

Almost all (99%) respondents from the UAE said it was important that the apps they use to find and apply for jobs provide a fast and seamless experience, without any delays or interruptions. Interestingly, more than half (56%) say potential employers only get one chance to impress them with their digital offerings. But organizations that do have the right digital experience for recruiting have a much better chance of winning the talent war. 60% claim they are more likely to choose an employer that offers a great and seamless digital experience.

Today, however, many organizations struggle to optimize application availability and performance, due in large part to the soaring complexity of IT departments. “Organizations need to ensure their IT teams have an observability platform across cloud-native and on-premises environments, with real-time insights from business transaction telemetry data in order to pinpoint the root cause and expedite resolution of any application issues. This is where employers can The only way to give potential employees the great digital experience they value now,” added Harvey.
