Dubai resident Joshua Grenville-Wood shot a second straight 7-under round with a 65 to take the lead at the weekend’s Abu Dhabi Challenge, while local golf coach Louis Gaughan was on his Challenge Tour He advanced in his debut.

The 25-year-old, who moved to the United Arab Emirates in 2019, admitted being used to warmer conditions helped him through his opening 36 holes, with temperatures set to reach 40 degrees on Sunday.
“I think living here is an advantage,” he said. “The heat hasn’t bothered me this week, it’s been a good temperature for me. I wasn’t tired at the end of the round so I think it’s made a big difference so far and I know I can get here Get good grades.

2023 Junior Ryder Cup captain Stephen Gallagher had a 5-under 67 to finish seventh at 8-under, while Swede Adam Blome and Portugal’s Ricardo • Gouvia was eighth at 7 under.
Ghosn, meanwhile, who has an EGF invitation after winning the Emirates PGA Championship last week, was 2 under for the round and the tournament when he teed off on the 18th hole.
