DUBAI, 30th April, 2023 (WAM) — Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation, said that the UAE’s commemoration of International Labor Day on 1st May each year embodies a culture of respect for all workers in the country, and we thank them for their dedication to all The growth of the economic sector and the contribution of the UAE to its comprehensive development journey to build a sustainable global economy.
“We are passionate about safeguarding the health, safety and well-being of workers, and supporting and empowering them. We protect the rights of employees and employers through a legislative system that governs industrial relations fairly, in line with our wise leadership and based on our values, ethical obligations and international principles and standards,” the minister added.
“The UAE, as a labor receiving country, aims to strengthen work, employment and contracting systems, partnering with labor sending countries on awareness and mentoring programmes. It is also keen to improve the temporary contract work cycle, whether through proactive measures or through Bilateral and multilateral cooperation, especially under the Abu Dhabi Dialogue, which is a platform for dialogue and cooperation between labor-sending and labor-receiving countries, where the exchange of ideas, experiences and best practices for the development of these countries is taking place,” he continued.
“The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation reaffirms its commitment to implement the most appropriate labor legislation in collaboration with public and private sector strategic partners, further strengthening the UAE’s incubating environment and its position as the world’s premier destination to live, work and invest in, ’ the minister concluded.
