Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) will showcase the diversity of Dubai’s destinations, highlighting its sustainable development platform and new initiatives aimed at boosting tourism in the Arab Travel Market (ATM).
According to the Emirates News Agency, this year’s ATM will be held at the Dubai World Trade Center from May 1 to 4, and the theme of the event, “Strive for Net Zero Emissions,” will focus on responsible tourism during the UAE Year of Sustainable Development WAM.
During the event, DET will highlight how the city’s tourism industry can support the journey towards net-zero emissions in the UAE by 2050, a strategic initiative with the ultimate goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050 while further stimulating active tourism industry growth trajectory.
Over 122 partners and representatives from government entities, hotels, destination management companies and tour operators will join DET at the extended Dubai booth at ATM 2023 to welcome and engage with visitors to the region’s leading travel event.

During ATM 2023, DET will highlight the achievements of Dubai Sustainable Tourism (DST) initiatives, including Dubai Can, a sustainability movement encouraging people to turn the plastic tide and mobilizing action to positively reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles, since Since its launch in February 2022, it has managed to reduce the equivalent of more than seven million 500ml single-use plastic water bottles in one year.
Additionally, as part of the city’s commitment to sustainability, plastic will not be present at the Dubai stand during the show. During the event, DET will showcase gourmet food from UAE businesses and local homegrown brands, while ensuring all giveaways are sustainable.
This year, DET is organizing the largest ATM Hosted Buyer Program, running until 4th May, showcasing Dubai’s unparalleled hospitality and service. This year’s event will attract a record 450 buyers from 31 different markets and countries, representing every continent in the world. The revival of tourism has made it possible for DET to bring in a large number of tour operators and tour operators, offering them the opportunity to explore Dubai’s excellent tourism offerings.
The Hosted Buyer Program will include a 2-day city-intensive itinerary on 30 April and 1 May, allowing buyers to experience Dubai’s vibrant culture, stunning architecture and exceptional hospitality. Additionally, a 2-day scheduled conference with Dubai stakeholders will be held at ATM on 2-3 May, giving buyers the opportunity to network and form strategic partnerships with Dubai’s leading travel suppliers.
DET will also spotlight the city’s diverse destination propositions, including its growing food scene, a key driver of growth, notably the ongoing 10th edition of the Dubai Food Festival, which runs until 7 May .
