flydubai carries record 3.37 million passengers in first quarter

Dubai-based flydubai will carry more than 3.37 million passengers in the first quarter (Q1) of 2023, a 50% increase compared to the same period in 2022.

The airline plans to ramp up operations during the busy summer travel period from July 1 to September 30, increasing capacity across its network by 20%.

Since early 2023, flydubai has further expanded its network and started operations to St. Petersburg in Russia, Pattaya and Krabi in Thailand, Al Qaisumah, Al Ula, Gizan, Nejran and Neom in Saudi Arabia, Shymkent in Kazakhstan, Ashgabat Turkmenistan, Mogadishu in Somalia and Milan-Bergamo in Italy.

Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, said: “We continue to grow our network, start operating new underserved routes and increase capacity on existing routes. Strong performance and growing fleet
Flydubai will carry 3.37 million passengers on more than 25,800 flights between January 1 and March 31, 2023, a 50% increase compared to 2022.

flydubai will increase the capacity of its entire network by 20% between July 1 and September 30, 2023, compared to the same period in 2022.

flydubai has increased its fleet of Boeing 737s to 76 aircraft to service its expanding network, with two more aircraft due to enter service in late May. To support this growth trajectory, flydubai is currently conducting a recruitment drive to add more talented professionals, including pilots, cabin crew and various positions across the enterprise.

flydubai already has an expanding network covering 120 destinations in 52 countries, of which more than 75 routes were not previously served directly to Dubai or were not served by Dubai’s national airline of the Emirates.

Hamad Obaidalla, chief commercial officer at flydubai, said: “We are delighted to see our operations reach new heights this summer with nine destinations joining our network. This includes Bodrum, Dubrovnik, Miko Popular destinations such as Norse, Santorini and Tivat, as well as new destinations such as Corfu in Greece and Cagliari in Sicily. We will also increase flight frequencies on several routes, including Krabi, Milan – Bergamo, Pattaya and Pisa, etc. These routes have proven to be very popular with passengers from the UAE and our entire network. Whether passengers are traveling on business or economy, passengers can continue to enjoy the flydubai network or through our partnership with the UAE The airline’s codeshare partnerships are seamless.”

flydubai launches flights to Cagliari on June 22, 2023, expanding its network in Italy to five points serving Catania (CTA), Cagliari (CAG), Naples (NAP ), Milan-Bergamo (BGY) and Pisa (PSA) with 24 weekly services.

• NAP 4 to 7 flights per week from 19 June and continue as daily operation after summer
• From June 20th, 3 to 4 PSAs per week
• Since April, BGY has increased from five services per week to one per day

From October 13, 2023, flydubai will double its flights to Krabi and Pattaya, Thailand, reaching double daily service. The airline finds flights from Belgrade, Bucharest, Budapest, Moscow, Tel Aviv, Warsaw as well as from across the GCC. – trade arab news agency
