April Line perhaps best sums up plans for Today Farm, an agricultural, commercial and entertainment venue to open just outside Muncie.

“We have a lot of ideas,” she says.

Residents in the area will get their first look at Today Farm, the longtime home of Styer Farm, when Today Farm holds its grand opening Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. at 215 Shady Lane, Muncy.

Line, Manager of Today Farm, talks about the innovative business and farming practices that are being introduced.

Line has long been employed by Susquehanna Mills Co., which makes cooking oil from sunflower and canola oils.

She works for Today Farm owner Josh Leidecker, growing oil crops.

“We will sell canola oil to universities and private consumers,” she says.

But that’s not all.

In addition to oilseed crops, the farm will grow vegetables and have an animal pasture.

A large portion of that business will be a farm store selling a variety of foods and products made in Pennsylvania.

She points to a nearby pond that she hopes to include as part of her hiking and recreational activities.

The educational and entertaining aspects of Today Farm are part of the vision.

Every Saturday there is a farmers market selling locally made goods including meats, cheeses and sweets.

In an alliance with Bullfrog Brewery, the farm store will offer beer and wine, where visitors can enjoy drinks and special events.
