Emirati tourist arrivals in Thailand up 15% in Q1 2023

Following an overall increase of 30% in tourists in 2022, there will be a further 15% increase in the number of Emirati tourists to Thailand in the first quarter of 2023.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), which released the latest figures, has identified the UAE as a country of “critical importance” to its tourism development plans.

TAT has announced a 2023 partnership with dnata Travel, the UAE’s original travel agency, bringing its latest and most impressive travel experiences closer to UAE travelers this year.

Throughout the partnership, TAT and dnata Travel aim to promote different aspects of Thailand’s diverse landscapes and attractions, focusing on areas of greatest interest to Emirati tourists. A new range of holiday packages tailor-made for the UAE is taking advantage of the agencies’ long-established nationwide partnerships. This is to ensure the best prices and additional services, as well as a range of exclusive services.

Chaiwat Tamthai, Director, Dubai and Middle East Tourism Authority, Thailand, commented: “The UAE is an important region for the development of tourism, and more and more tourists are eager to explore new and unique experiences in Thailand. TAT attributes the significant growth in tourism in the UAE to several factors, including the growing number of events and attractions in the country. Travel between the two countries has also become easier, with several airlines offering direct flights and new routes, including to Krabi and Pattaya. TAT and dnata Travel’s core focus areas include promoting Thailand’s diverse travel offerings and affordability, while focusing on increasing travel accessibility through competitive travel packages, flight options and travel insurance.
