Tel Aviv [Israel], May 3 (ANI/TPS): The Israel Defense Forces struck a number of Hamas sites in Gaza overnight in retaliation for Tuesday’s rocket attack. According to unconfirmed Middle Eastern media reports from Palestinian sources, Israel and Gaza terrorist groups have agreed to a ceasefire.

Three people in Sderot were injured by shrapnel when a Palestinian rocket hit a construction site.

An army spokesman said the IDF attacked an ammunition depot, weapons production facilities, a training ground and a concrete factory used to build Hamas infrastructure. It also hit underground tunnels and a Hamas naval outpost.

“Hamas bears responsibility for what happened in the Gaza Strip and will pay for violations of the security of the State of Israel,” the IDF statement said.

After the initial airstrikes, Palestinians fired rockets that set off alarms in Sderot, Netiv HaAsara, Yad Mordechai and other Israeli communities near the Gaza border.

Adnan, 45, spent years in Israeli prisons under 10 different terms. He promoted the practice of hunger strikes by Palestinian prisoners.

Adnan was found unconscious in his cell at Nizan prison early Tuesday morning, the Israel Prison Service said. After performing CPR, he was taken to Assaf HaRofeh Hospital in Beer Yaakov, where he was pronounced dead.

The IPS emphasized that Adnan refused to undergo medical examination or receive treatment during the hunger strike. (ANI/TPS)
