London [United Kingdom]May 3 (ANI): The United Kashmir People’s National Party (UKPNP) organized an international conference in the Jubilee Room of the House of Commons, attended by British MPs, human rights activists, thinkers, lawyers, journalists, writers and political leaders on extremism and Take a forward-looking approach to the scourge of violence.

The meeting on Tuesday, titled “Growing Extremism and Violence in South Asia and How It Will Affect the UK and South Asia”, agreed and announced several points related to security and peace in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and South Asia.

The meeting shared a commitment to firmly support and vote for peace, harmony and prosperity in South Asia, especially a unified Jammu and Kashmir where people of all faiths, cultures and political views can live with dignity, respect and security.

The meeting also condemned the spread of inequality, violence and hatred premeditated, instigated and supported by the Pakistani establishment in the former state of Jammu and Kashmir. The purpose behind this gross violation of the basic human rights of people is to endanger their lives and deny them their right to liberty, dignity and material prosperity.

The meeting declared that the Jammu and Kashmir Dispute was caused by Pakistan’s unprovoked and imperialist attack on Jammu and Kashmir which resulted in the kidnapping and rape of our women and the massacre of innocent citizens.

The meeting announced that there is no military solution to the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and dialogue is the only way out.

The meeting collectively called on the Pakistani government to ensure freedom of expression regardless of creed, race, language and social status. The meeting claimed that despite being an Islamic state, Pakistan still persecutes religious minorities such as Shia and Qadiani.

The former face discrimination and existential threats as an unpopular sect of Islam in Pakistan, while the latter are arbitrarily declared non-Muslims and dismissed as untouchables.

The meeting also adopted a resolution aimed at expanding the space for peace, tolerance, harmony and respect for all.

The UKPNP called for a democratic solution and reiterated that the people of Jammu and Kashmir must be involved in the peace process as the main political party in resolving the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. (Arnie)
