Islamabad [Pakistan]May 4 (ANI): The building of Pakistan Telecom Limited (PTCL) in Noshki district of Balochistan province was damaged after it was hit by a grenade on Tuesday, Dawn newspaper reported, citing police.

City Station Building Officer (SHO) Ali Ahmed Bugti said in an interview with Dawn that two unidentified men on motorcycles threw grenades at the Pakistan Telecom Limited building before the explosion.

He further said that the building was damaged in the grenade attack, adding that no casualties were reported in the incident.

He said police had collected evidence from the scene of the attack and started searching for suspects, according to the Dawn newspaper.

In a similar incident last week, a senior police officer of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) police station in Khuzdar was killed in a bomb attack. A roadside bomb detonated when Inspector Sharbat Khan’s vehicle arrived at Khuzdar Medical College on the Quetta-Karachi Expressway on its way to the police station, police said.

According to Dawn newspaper, citing hospital officials, Shabat Khan died at the scene when the explosion occurred, while his vehicle was completely destroyed. Also, in April, unidentified men threw a grenade at the Shaikhan police station in Peshawar.

According to news reports, there were no casualties in the April incident. However, the walls of the Shaikhan police post were partially damaged. Following the incident, police filed charges against the unidentified assailant.

Citing police, Dawn newspaper reported that in early April, “bandits” opened fire on a checkpoint under construction in the Kutcha district of Gharpur, near Kashmore district in Sindh province, killing two policemen and injuring four others.

According to Kashmore-Kandhkot Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Irfan Ali Sammo, new police checkpoints were being set up when “hooligans” opened fire on the officers on April 15, Dawn reported.

According to news reports, police officers Sabir Ali and Ahad Ali Domki were killed after the attack and four others were wounded, including Bakhshapur Station House Officer (SHO) Gul Muhammad Mehr, Sammo said. The injured were taken to a hospital in Rahim Yar Khan, while the remains of the deceased were transferred to Civil Hospital in Kashmore, the SSP said. (Arnie)
