Explosion in Jalalabad, Afghanistan killed at least two people, 20 injured: Taliban-News

[ad_1]

A Taliban official said that at least two people were killed and as many as 20 were injured in three explosions in the eastern city of Jalalabad on Saturday.

The Taliban official, who asked not to be named, said: “So far, we have received reports of two deaths and as many as 20 injuries.” He said a patrol car had become the target.

“Among the wounded are women and children,” he said.

He added that investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of the damage and the cause of the explosion.

These attacks are the first deadly explosions since the United States withdrew from Afghanistan.

An official from the health department of Nangarhar province told AFP that 3 people were killed and 18 were injured.

Several local media reported that the attack caused at least two deaths and 19 injuries.

Jalalabad is the capital of Nangarhar, the heart of the Da’esh organization in Afghanistan, which claimed responsibility for the bloody attack that killed more than 100 people at the Kabul airport at the end of August.

The Taliban returned to power in mid-August after overthrowing the previous government, and they pledged to restore peace and security in the country.

Photos taken at the scene of the explosion showed a green pickup truck with a white Taliban flag surrounded by wreckage and armed fighters watching.
