UAE evacuates 176 people from seven countries from Sudan – News

UAE has now evacuated 566 people from the conflict-torn country; prioritizing care for the most vulnerable including the sick, children, elderly, women

A fourth evacuation plane – carrying 176 people, including journalists, from seven countries in conflict-affected Sudan – landed in Abu Dhabi on Saturday afternoon.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (Mofaic) said the evacuation mission was part of the UAE’s “humanitarian efforts and commitment to strengthen global cooperation and solidarity, based on providing protection to civilians and facilitating aid and assistance to the country when needed.”

The UAE has now evacuated a total of 566 people from Sudan. Prioritize the most vulnerable, including the sick, children, the elderly and women.

Two evacuees arrived last week and a third evacuation plane landed in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Mofaic said that the UAE will receive evacuees (from other countries) and provide them with all necessary support and assistance until they return safely to their respective home countries.

The ministry also emphasized the UAE’s commitment to working with its international partners “to serve the interests of the Sudanese people, emphasizing the importance of intensifying efforts to secure a ceasefire and resume the political process and dialogue to achieve the desired political stability and security of Sudan.”

On Friday, the UAE sent two relief planes Travel to Sudan in cooperation with the World Health Organization.
