Florida [US]May 7 (ANI): A Frontier flight accidentally flew a New Jersey woman without a passport to Jamaica instead of Jacksonville, the New York Post reported.

The incident occurred due to the woman inadvertently changing the gate.

Gloucester County resident Beverly Ellis-Hebard said she regularly flies to Philadelphia to return to her second home in Jacksonville.

She arrived at the gate for her Nov. 6 flight, which said “PHL to JAX.”

“I fly every six weeks. I take the Frontier flight because we fly a lot,” she said.

Ellis-Hebard asked a gate agent if she could go to the bathroom. However, upon returning, she found that the flight was almost fully boarded, and she was rushed aboard, according to the New York Post.

“[The gate agent] Say, “Come on, come on. Give me your boarding pass.” I’d say I took about ten steps and she said, “Are you Beverly Ellis-Hebard?” the New Jersey resident explained. “I said, ‘You just got my boarding pass. You just checked me in. Yes!’ And she said, ‘Okay, let’s go! Let’s go,'” the New York Post reported.

The flight crew told Ellis-Hebard that the Jacksonville flight had changed gates and that their plane was en route to Jamaica as soon as she boarded.

“I laughed. I said ‘I’d love to go there, but there’s a beach where I live,'” Ellis-Hebbard said, adding “[The flight attendant] Say, ‘Look at me. The plane is going to Jamaica. From the look on her face I knew she wasn’t joking. “Ellis Hubbard was unable to leave the plane after landing because she did not have a passport,” the New York Post reported.

She stayed on the highway, which, in her mind, was American territory.

The crew stayed with her until hours later, when her plane to Philadelphia took off.

According to Ellis-Hebbard, the plane crash wasn’t the only disaster she encountered while traveling, according to the New York Post.

She scratched her arm when she put her travel bag in the suitcase.

“I put it in and when I took it out my arm was all bruised right here. I was bleeding,” she said.

A spokesperson for Frontier Airlines said: “We deeply regret our customer boarding the wrong flight and offer her our apologies,” adding, “We have provided her with a refund and compensation and have resolved the matter with airport personnel. ’,” the New York Post reported. (Arnie)
