ottawa [Canada]May 9 (ANI): On Monday (local time), federal Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal attended a dinner hosted by Canadian Foreign Minister Mary Ng in Ottawa.

“Concluded a productive day in Ottawa with lively interaction at a dinner hosted by my Canadian counterpart @Mary_Ng. Ministers will also review the Inca CEPA (Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement) negotiations.

At the last MDTI meeting in March 2022, the two ministers launched negotiations on CEPA and the possibility of an interim agreement or EPTA (Early Progressive Trade Agreement). Since then, seven rounds of negotiations have been held.

The Union Minister is on a two-day visit to Toronto (May 9-10) during which he will conduct various events to promote trade and investment.

The minister was accompanied by a delegation of Indian CEOs led by industry body FICCI.

During the two-day visit, Goyal will have meetings with CEOs of major Canadian companies, roundtables with Indian and Canadian CEOs, interactions with Canadian and Indian companies in Canada, and financial sector roundtables, among others. The visit is expected to further boost bilateral trade and investment relations.

Goyal will also open an India Pavilion at SIAL CANADA-2023, the largest food innovation trade show in North America with over 1000 domestic and international exhibitors from 50 countries. (Arnie)
