UAE authorities have jailed a man for more than 20 years and fined him Dh200,000 after he was found guilty of raping and sexually exploiting a boy.

The Kalba Public Prosecution has referred the accused to the Juvenile Court. The Crown Court found him guilty of all charges against him.

According to the UAE Public Prosecution, the victim’s mother found out that the defendant – her relative – had been sexually exploiting her son. He raped him “several times” since he was 11 years old.

“The investigation revealed that the defendant repeatedly raped the victim and threatened him not to report the crime. It also revealed the defendant’s use of drugs and psychotropic substances,” the prosecution said.

The public prosecution agency calls on parents and family members to pay attention to their children’s affairs, communicate with them more, listen to their voices at all times, and protect them from all harm.
