Dubai Food Festival showcases culinary excellence

The recently concluded 10th edition of the Dubai Food Festival (DFF) is an annual premier food festival showcasing the best of Dubai’s culinary delights over a 17-day event.

From Dubai Restaurant Week featuring over 50 of the city’s top restaurants, to foodie experiences highlighting exclusive masterclasses by award-winning chefs and intimate Chef’s Tables, and the return of Etisalat at e& Beach Canteen, there’s something for everyone .

Additionally, the festival launched a Dhs10 menu offering a selection of signature and unique dishes at unbeatable prices, cementing Dubai’s reputation as the world’s leading culinary capital.

Food in Dubai is growing exponentially and this year’s Citywide Food Festival is a testament to the quality of the city’s culinary offerings. Hundreds of restaurants, cafes and eateries come together to showcase the best of Dubai’s culinary offerings, offering visitors and residents alike a platform to indulge in world-class dining venues, new restaurants and pop-ups, and culinary delights.

Dubai Restaurant Week (DRW) is a special feature of the 10th edition of the festival, bringing together over 50 of the city’s top restaurants with specially curated 3-course dinner or 2-course lunch menus at unbeatable prices across the city. DRW’s more than 13,000 diners enjoy a diverse dining experience, allowing guests to indulge in some of the most popular tables in town.

The 10th edition of the DFF also sees the return of the ever-popular foodie experience, offering 100 curated and curated events including Chef’s Tables, masterclasses led by award-winning chefs, live shows at the city’s best restaurants Immersive experiential dining events, culinary collaborations, and workshops for young foodies.

Foodies enjoy an extensive array of global culinary explorations that teach them how to create ethnic dishes and signature dishes from renowned and award-winning chefs. These one-of-a-kind masterclasses include a unique oyster shucking experience at Dibba Bay Oysters, a specialty coffee class at RAW Coffee Company, a chef masterclass with Reif Japanese Kushiyaki, a fermented food masterclass at 21 Grams and a signature COYA masterclass.

DFF also hosts some of the world’s most famous and award-winning chefs, who dazzle attendees with their culinary expertise through a series of unforgettable chef’s tables. Each curated tasting menu is a feast for the senses, showcasing authentic flavors from a range of global cuisines, paired with a unique dining experience.

Foodies feast on sumptuous Japanese chef’s tables at Katsuya, while Bada Dining offers a unique eight-course menu to tingle the taste buds. For a truly luxurious experience, Nobu hosts a private dining event where SLS Dubai’s Smoke & Mirrors takes guests on a unique caviar tasting journey with Chef Claudio Cardoso, while Chef Vikas Khanna, through his Taste of The Kinara event is a feast for the eyes of diners.

The city’s top restaurants offer a range of can’t-miss events, including an eight-course chef’s table curated by Pincode’s Kunal Kapoor, and chef Domenico Santagada’s culinary journey through Alici’s Southern Italy and the coast of AFmalfi. Each event is a true celebration of the art of food, showcasing the best the city has to offer.

To celebrate the 10th edition of DFF, 10 dirham dishes have been introduced. As part of the programme, over 200 restaurants and cafes proudly showcased their signature dishes at an unbeatable price of AED 10 (US$2.72) during the 17-day DFF. From mouth-watering entrees to mouth-watering desserts, foodies will be dazzled by a selection of classic and signature dishes. Whether they like savory or sweet, there’s something for everyone. This is a collaboration with Zomato as participating restaurants include Pierchic, Tortuga, Trattoria, The Smokehouse on Bla Bla, Skafos and many more.

Celebrating a decade of fashion success, Etisalate & Beach Canteen attracted a record 95,000 visitors, making it one of the festival’s most popular highlights. The retro beach themed pop-up restaurant offers free entry to 10 unique areas and over 50 food concepts. With live entertainment and a plethora of daily events and pop-ups, it offers food lovers, friends and family an opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors while indulging in mouth-watering treats. Kicking off the Eid weekend with a spectacular firework display, traditional performances on the main stage and the opening of the Dubai Food Show, the City of Dubai was invited to an open call to capture Dubai’s unique food scene.

A jury selects the top 30 photographers to present their work at Etisalate & Beach Canteen, and the top 3 winners will receive cash prizes of up to AED 10,000. To commemorate DFF’s ten-year founding, a digital gallery featuring images and videos from the past decade is also on display, offering visitors an opportunity to relive memories. The event is organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), with Brag as its creative partner.

In addition to Etisalat at e& Beach Canteen, the 10th edition of Dubai Food Festival also featured a number of outdoor food markets, pop-up restaurants, music events and events, including What the Food and Time Out Market’s second anniversary at Al Serkal Avenue.

As another fantastic DFF draws to a close, the city’s foodies will have plenty of memorable experiences ahead of the next festival.
