Abu Dhabi residents scramble to get Covid-19 boosters before deadline-News

[ad_1]

Once the deadline has passed, residents who have not stepped up their injections will see a gray status on the AlHosn app, restricting their access to public places

Residents of Abu Dhabi are racing to get Covid-19 boosters before tomorrow’s deadline.

The authorities announced earlier that Booster shooting This is mandatory for residents who received the second dose of the Covid vaccine six months ago.

There is a 30-day grace period before Monday, September 20, allowing residents to stay green on the AlHosn app until they receive a booster dose.

Once the deadline has passed, residents who have not stepped up their injections will see a gray status on the AlHosn app, which restricts their access to many public places in the capital.

Dr. Faisal Hamza Dalvi, a specialist in internal medicine at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi, said that the vaccination center under VPS Healthcare has seen many people make appointments for booster injections.

“Because residents are keen to vaccinate boosters, the vaccination center has been busy. Many people, especially those who plan to travel abroad, have always chosen Pfizer vaccine because it is more popular internationally,” he said.

Dr. Darvi added that boosters are the best way to fight off viruses and boost immunity.

“The Covid vaccine booster is very important for people who have completed six months since taking the second dose of vaccine to boost their immunity. People should get the third dose to prevent the virus,” he said.

The Abu Dhabi government media office said earlier that, except for Sinopharm, no booster dose is required for other vaccines.
