Malayali expats hopeful as Go First decides to resume operations at Abu Dhabi unit | Travel

[ad_1]

Abu Dhabi: Thousands of Keralite expatriates, especially those from the Malabar region, have been delighted by the news that Go First airline hopes to resume operations. The budget airline has ceased operations from May 3 to 12 due to severe financial constraints.

Meanwhile, the aviation ministry has asked airlines not to sell tickets or accept reservations until May 19, after which date airlines hope to resume operations. Air ticket sales from the Malabar region to the Dubai and Abu Dhabi regions dropped sharply after the service was discontinued.

Moreover, the price of air tickets in this field has skyrocketed, and ordinary people cannot afford it. Those who had to fly from Abu Dhabi to Kannur, Kozhikode and Mangaluru were the worst affected. The shortage of air services on these routes has created a severe travel crisis.

Expat families are also worried because schools in the Bay Area will be on summer vacation at the end of June. Various organizations and individuals have called on the national and central governments to highlight the plight of passengers. Airline authorities apologized for the sudden cancellation and promised full refunds to passengers. Passengers can reschedule their trips after service resumes, they informed.
