ABU DHABI, 12th May, 2023 (WAM) — His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, today Abu Dhabi hosted the first meeting of the Executive Committee at the Prince Court.
During the meeting, His Royal Highness was briefed on a number of government programs and projects, as well as the government’s priorities and service-related initiatives to benefit citizens and residents. His Highness stressed that the Executive Council will ensure that the Government of Abu Dhabi remains committed to the priorities of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan by further improving the quality of life of citizens and continuing to enhance their security and stability Matters and vision through key pillars such as housing, education and healthcare.
During the meeting, the Executive Committee approved the updated housing benefits policy, including updated eligibility criteria, to further empower Emirati families and meet their needs by reducing the wait time to apply for housing benefits.
The policy includes free ready-to-use homes for low-income citizens, boosting the value of home loans to support those in need, and establishing standards in exchange for housing benefits.
During the meeting, the executive committee reviewed the progress of current government initiatives, including housing and facilities projects. His Highness directed the development of a comprehensive and future-proof housing services framework for the citizens of Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the private sector to ensure a smooth, time-saving construction process and rapid access to services.
His Highness also directed that several accelerators be implemented to provide citizens with suitable housing as soon as possible.
Presented to His Highness Sheikh Khaled the plans, updates and outcomes of Phase 1 of the Liveability Strategy, which includes the development of AED12 billion community facility projects in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra. These include pedestrian and cycle paths, sports facilities, clinics, mosques, parks and green spaces.
After reviewing the initial results of the first phase of the Liveability Strategy, His Highness directed the start of the next phase of the Liveability Strategy, which is in line with the Abu Dhabi Government’s vision and commitment to develop and deliver integrated and sustainable communities in line with the UAE’s culture and traditions. healthy lifestyle.
The executive committee also reviewed the progress made within the Abu Dhabi government services ecosystem. His Highness instructed to immediately update the government service ecosystem to further improve the level of government services, meet customer needs smoothly and efficiently, save users time and effort, and improve service accessibility.
To date, Abu Dhabi government entities have provided more than 700 services through its unified channel, and customers have conducted more than 8 million transactions in the past year.
At the conclusion of the meeting, His Highness highlighted the importance of empowering citizens and youth opportunities, which is a priority for the government and a key focus area for the Executive Committee. He also directed the development of initiatives and programs that create tangible and sustainable opportunities and enhance national skills in the public and private sectors to enable people to realize their potential and contribute to the emirate’s economic growth.
