Abu Dhabi – Below, see Tracy Reiman, Executive Vice President of PETA, on SeaWorld’s opening of the park in Abu Dhabi:

If Sea World could build a to abuseAt Mention Park in Abu Dhabi, it could have built a seaside sanctuary, and the only reason it hasn’t is because of corporate greed. Even the notorious Miami Aquarium plans to send Lolita the killer whale to sanctuary, and PETA is calling on SeaWorld to stop finding new ways to squeeze money from captive animals and New Worlds for its cheesy dolphin exploitation shows.

Sea World’s 24 dolphins secret delivery The one who came to Abu Dhabi was a woman named Alice, who was “rescued” in 2007 and held in a concrete cell at SeaWorld San Antonio. Alice was forcibly bred in the company’s dolphin-breeding program, where staff members pulled females out of the water – sometimes after drugging them to render them irresistible – and stuffed tubes filled with semen uterus. Alice conceived through this forced insemination and gave birth to two calves.

Part of PETA’s motto is “We must not use animals for entertainment or in any other way to abuse” – against speciesism, an anthropocentric worldview. For more information, please visit PETAlisten PETA Podcastor follow groups Twitter, Facebookor instagram.
