Las Cruces, NM (KVIA) — Las Cruces hasn’t bowled in nearly five years, but that’s about to change with the opening of a new Family Entertainment Center (FEC).
The Allen Theater confirmed to ABC-7 on Tuesday that the new entertainment center will be built on top of the existing Telshor 12 cinema.
In addition to two floors of bowling, one of which is more adult-oriented, the new FEC will feature laser tag, arcade games, a rooftop terrace and full food and beverage services.
“The Allen Theater has entertained Las Cruces for over 40 years,” owner Russell Allen said in a statement to ABC-7. “We’re excited to expand our entertainment offerings to include bowling, games, laser tag, food and drink and movies, all under one roof at Telshor 12.”
Construction of the FEC is expected to be completed by May 2024.
Allen told ABC-7 that construction was supposed to start in May 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic bring these plans to a halt.
Las Cruces’ only bowling alley, 10 Pin Alley, permanently closed in June 2018.
The property, although under different ownership, is an unresolved location 1990 mass shootings 5 people were killed and 2 were injured.
