Kathmandu [Nepal]May 17 (ANI): India and Nepal have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to carry out two high-impact community development projects with the assistance of the Government of India.

The Indian Embassy in Nepal tweeted, “#IndiaNepal: Partners of #Development Today, @IndiainNepal and @mofaganepal signed 2 contracts under GoI grant for #healthcare and #education sectors in Ramechhap and Doti districts of #Nepal Memorandum of Understanding for HICDP at a total cost of approximately Rs 80.33 lakh.”

According to a press statement issued by the Indian Embassy, ​​the construction of the two projects, Malagiri Shanti Yogashram in Nepal’s Ramechhap district and Kedar Jyotipunja Multiple Campus in Doti district, will be implemented through Ramechhap Municipality and Badikedar Rural Municipality respectively.

“The construction of the above-mentioned projects will provide local communities with better healthcare and education facilities and improve the quality of life of the people of Nepal,” the statement read.

Earlier, Indian Embassy signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Sushila Thakur Memorial Health Foundation (STMHF) for distribution of LPG stoves and cylinders in Mahottari district of Nepal with grant assistance of Rs 5 crore (approx.) from India India-Nepal Development Cooperation.

The project will benefit nearly 8,000 poor and marginalized families in five municipalities in the Mahotari district of Madesh State, Nepal.

The project was inspired by the Government of India’s Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, a flagship initiative to provide rural and poor households with clean cooking fuels such as LPG that would otherwise use traditional cooking fuels such as firewood. , coal, cow-dung cake.

Since 2003, India has undertaken over 535 high-impact community development projects in Nepal and has completed 478 projects. Of these, 81 projects are located in Mahdesh Pradesh, of which 6 projects are located in Mahottari district.
