Salon du Chocolat et de la Pâtisserie launches its second edition at Le Gourmet, Galeries Lafayette, Dubai Mall with more than 60 exhibitors and chocolate samples and purchases from the best brands from all over the world.
The opening ceremony was attended by Marie-Laure Charrier, Deputy Consul General of France in the UAE, Laure Videau, Licensing Director of Salon du Chocolat, world-class chefs, industry professionals and media representatives.
Joumana Dammous-Salamé, Managing Director of event organizer HSME, welcomed the guests and spoke about the importance of hosting such an exciting event in Dubai for the second year in a row.

Held exclusively for those who share a passion for chocolate and pastry, this beloved show brings together professional chocolatiers, chocolatiers, chocolatiers, writers and pastry chefs for a wealth of chocolate-themed events. From May 18th to 20th, more than 5,000 visitors are expected to attend the exhibition.
The Salon du Chocolat et de la Pâtisserie will host the famous chocolate fashion show. Thirteen fashion designers from ESMOD Dubai teamed up with celebrity pastry chefs to create “La Femme et la Mode” themed gowns, which will be showcased at the fair. Maha El Khoury, project and sales director at HSME, said that in addition to the fashion show, the event program also included a pastry show and a Choco Démo.
Some 40 pastry chefs from top Dubai hotels shared their tips and recipes with visitors over three days, while 50 chefs competed live for the chance to win a trip to Paris’s chocolate salons. Competition categories include Best Pastry Exhibit, Best Chocolate Exhibit, Best 3D Cake Design and the Elle & Vire Cheesecake Competition.
Junior group
The event is suitable for all ages, with a specially designed Salon du Chocolate Junior section for children to get creative with chocolate.
Founded in Paris in 1994, Salon du Chocolat has become a reference for chocolate lovers, with events in 15 cities around the world, including Beirut, Jeddah and Dubai. — trade arab news agency
