The UAE’s oldest travel provider, dnata Travel, announced the results of a survey of thousands of UAE tourists in July 2021 and August 2021. This is the busiest time for the brand to travel to the UAE since the global pandemic .
So far, 86% of the interviewees expressed their views on the travel plans of UAE residents for 2021 and 2022, and expressed their desire to travel internationally during this period.
Of these respondents, 56% said they plan to travel to Europe on the next holiday, and more than half plan to stay for one to two weeks. Compared with previous years, this means that the number of room nights has increased significantly. According to a dnata Travel report, UAE travelers used to spend three to four nights in European destinations on average.
Emily Jenkins, Head of Leisure UAE, dnata Travel commented: “We conducted the latest dnata Travel survey in July 2021/August 2021. Because international travel has seen a significant increase, many countries are open to vaccinated travelers before the summer, including Europe, North America, parts of the Indian Ocean and Destinations in Asia.
“Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have witnessed pent-up travel demand, especially after the impressive vaccination campaign in the UAE. Most of Europe has relaxed restrictions on vaccinated travelers, providing a wealth of Choice, suitable for all types of travellers, from beach vacations to island escapes and urban relaxation.”
According to the survey results of dnata Travel, the five most popular destinations in Europe for UAE residents during the 2021/2022 holiday include Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece and Georgia.
Outside Europe, respondents expressed interest in planning to travel to Asia, with Thailand accounting for the vast majority, followed by the Middle East, North America and the Indian Ocean.
