“I’m going to fight this guy”

Kanzat Chimayev Moved to Dubai with his team, where he is practicing patience.

“The UFC told us we were going to fight in Abu Dhabi,” Chimaev said during one fight. Video posted to his YouTube channel Tuesday, “This is what I’ve been waiting for.”

Chimayev has been eager to return to the octagon since his last fight, First round submission win over Kevin Holland. That was at UFC 279 last September, and it came together after the ensuing weigh-in Chimayev’s colossal blunder on scale Headlining for his original welterweight fight with Nate Diaz.

Since then, Chimaev’s future has been in doubt, with UFC president Dana White saying he wants the rising UFC star to move up to middleweight. Chimaev has called up a number of potential opponents, including the former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usmancurrent UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, and No. 1 welterweight contender Colby Covington.

Bottom line: Chimaev (12-0 MMA, 6-0 UFC) now lives in Dubai after spending time Sweden and Thailand. He is “just waiting for an opponent and a contract” for his Oct. 21 UFC 294 bout in nearby Abu Dhabi.and it sound As much as he looks forward to meeting Usman, White said a game UFC would be willing to book if done at 185 pounds.

“Usman wants to fight. I do his last fight. He wants money. He knows where the money is, you know? Everyone knows the money,” Chimayev said. “I’m going to fight this guy from Abu Dhabi, smash his face, kill him, and then they have to give me a chance to win. There’s no money to fight. It’s just me.”

After winning his first six UFC fights, Chimaev walks the talk and hopes to do it by securing the title he thinks he has won. For him, the split is irrelevant.

“I want to fight for the championship. So, for me, it doesn’t matter which weight class,” Chimaev said. “…give me a title shot. I’m ready for both (departments). I’m ready for Usman, I’m ready for Leon, I’m ready for Israel, it doesn’t matter . I’m ready for everyone.”
