Islamabad [Pakistan]May 24 (ANI): In view of maintaining law and order, prominent Pakistani Justice Instigation (PTI) leaders Shah Mohammad Qureshi, Jamshed Chima and his wife Musala Te Chima was placed under house arrest on Wednesday.

Pakistani news channel ARY News reported that the order to house former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s party leaders was issued by the Rawalpindi Commissioner. They were placed under house arrest under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO).

Apparently former Pakistani foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, PTI leader Jamshed Chima and his wife Musarat Jamshed Chima have been under house arrest for 15 days.

Earlier on Tuesday, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who is also the vice-chairman of Pakistan’s Justice Movement (PTI), arrived in Rawalpindi from Rawalpindi, Pakistan-based Geo News reported. He was arrested again minutes after his release from Adiala prison.

Party leader Musarrat Jamshed Cheema was also arrested again immediately after his release. Speaking outside the prison before his re-arrest, Qureshi stressed that he was still a member of PTI and would continue to be.

The former minister was then taken by police to an undisclosed location. His statement about staying in the party came hours after the party’s senior vice-president Shireen Mazari announced she would quit PTI and leave politics, Geo News reported.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered Qureshi’s release after he submitted an undertaking confirming that he would renounce inciting and inciting workers.

Qureshi, one of the PTI leaders, was arrested in Islamabad within 24 hours of violent protests by PTI staff following the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan on May 9 in the Al-Qadir Trust case, Geo News reported. .

The former foreign minister was arrested by police over riots and arson in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. (Arnie)
