Canadian election: Trudeau vows to cooperate with opponents after losing majority in election-News

[ad_1]

After an early call to vote, Trudeau re-elected for a third term on Monday.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau admitted on Tuesday that he will need to work with other political parties after failing to achieve his desired goals. Win a majority in parliamentary elections, Let him once again rely on opposition legislators to govern.

On the 49th and 49th, after an early call to vote, he was re-elected for a third term on Monday, hoping to approve his free spending response to the Covid-19 pandemic. Since 2019, he has been working with a few people and was forced to reach agreements with other parties to advance legislation.

But the interim results showed little change compared to the 2019 elections, renounced another minority, and questioned why Trudeau called the official opposition Conservative Party to describe it as a cynical power-grabbing vote.

Trudeau, who has been in power since 2015, said he has a clear mission to continue the road to recovery, while acknowledging that Canadians do not want to think about politics or elections.

He told his supporters in Montreal: “You just want to know that in this crisis and beyond, all your parliamentarians will support you.” “You have given clear instructions to this council and this government.”

The results showed that the Liberal Party’s approach has hardly changed. They have accumulated record debts and huge budget deficits in the fight against COVID-19.

During the campaign, Trudeau promised tens of billions of dollars in new investment. He will once again rely on the support of the smaller, left-leaning New Democratic Party, who hopes to get more social spending.

“We are more and more like before. I don’t think the market will react in any way,” said Martin Pelletier, senior portfolio manager at Trivest Wealth Counsel.

During the Asian trading session on Tuesday, the Canadian dollar/U.S. dollar exchange rate rose slightly to 1.2766, or 78.33 cents.

Provisional results show that the Liberal Party leads the 155 electoral districts, which is less than the 170 Trudeau required to control the 338 Houses of Commons. The Conservative Party is 122 and the New Democratic Party is 26.

Former Trudeau consultant Gerry Bartz told CBC: “The clear message from Canadians is that they like the direction the government is leading the country, but they are not sure whether they are willing to give anyone discretionary power.”

Approximately 800,000 mailed ballots will be counted on Tuesday, which may affect the final statistics of certain seats.

The result was a blow to the right-leaning Conservative Party, whose leader Irene O’Toole tried to adopt a more centrist approach to attract progressive voters.

In the second consecutive election, the party won a larger share of general elections than the Liberal Party. The Liberal Party still won the victory while locking down major urban centers.

O’Toole said he was convinced that Trudeau planned to hold another election in two years. He said he had called the leader of the Liberal Party and challenged him to put the unity of Canada first.

“I told him that if he thinks he can hold another general election within 18 months to threaten Canadians, then the Conservative Party will be ready,” he told supporters in his hometown of Oshawa, east of Toronto.
