UAE: International Association of Islamic Food Processors moves global headquarters to Dubai – News

The International Islamic Food Processors Association (IFPA), a subsidiary of the International Organization for Islamic Food Safety (IOFS), established in December 2020 as a founding member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has moved its global headquarters from Astana to Dubai.

The offices of the Etihad Museum were inaugurated by Climate Change and Environment Minister Mariam bint Mohammed Almheiri on Monday, in the presence of Islamic Investment and Export Credit Insurance Corporation (ICIEC) chief executive Oussama Abdel Rahman Kaissi and other dignitaries.

Almheiri said the collaboration is “should we strive to improve our collective food security on a sustainable basis, which will also contribute to the fight against climate change. This can be achieved through the adoption of innovative technologies and solutions throughout the food value chain.”

As part of the UAE Year of Sustainable Development, in light of COP28, which will be held later this year, she said the UAE aims to accelerate efforts to adopt modern agricultural and nutritional solutions at the local and global levels.

“Transforming food systems by reducing emissions from traditional agriculture and food systems has become a self-evident for ensuring sustainable food supplies and combating climate change.
