Helping Valhalla MMA and fitness athletes compete in Abu Dhabi

[ad_1]

The Mixed Martial Arts Association of South Africa has listed 44 MMA athletes who will represent South Africa at the International MMA World Junior Championships in Abu Dhabi from August 2-5.

In early May, the Mixed Martial Arts Youth National Trials were held in Johannesburg to ensure the best competition South Africa had to offer as part of the traveling team.

Teams from all provinces across the country competed for the top spot in the South Australian youth team with their youth.

According to Valhalla MMA & Fitness coach Shane Carr, the sport is not sponsored by the government or organization.

Each athlete will need to secure their own funds through donations and sponsorships to cover the cost of competing, he said.

“The South African MMA team is also working hard to raise much-needed funds through donations and sponsorships to help the team as best they can. Of the athletes who have earned a place on the SA team, six are from Valhalla MMA & Fitness,” he explained.

In the C 12-13 year group they are Teagan Snyman, Zohann Lubbe, Josef Moosa and Wayden Wolmarans and in the B 14-15 year group Amy Matthews has been selected. Coenie Lamprecht was recognized in the A 16-17 category.

The South African mixed martial arts team has also appointed three coaches who will travel with the team to Abu Dhabi.

“Guiding and familiarizing the players with their strength inside the cage is an important position, while ensuring the safety of the traveling youth and the logistics of the team. Those who have been appointed as coaches are myself and Charle van Dond (Gauteng) and Lyndell Sandenberg,” Carr said.

Any help with their trip to Abu Dhabi would be greatly appreciated, he said.

“If you or your business can make any donations or sponsorships for the entire team or any of the individuals at Alberton mentioned above, please contact me directly shane@valhallammasa.co.za Or call 083 7222 704,” he said.
