UNEP-Abu Dhabi will showcase its initiatives for the next 50 years during ADIHEX 2021

UNEP-Abu Dhabi (EAD) is preparing to participate in the upcoming 18day The Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX) will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the representative of the rulers of the Al Dhafra region, the chairman of the UAE Falcon Club and EAD .

The agency will once again become the main sponsor of the region’s largest cultural heritage protection event, which will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center (ADNEC) on the 27th.day September to 3roadOctober.

The theme of EAD’s exhibition this year is to clarify the environmental vision for the next 50 years. This coincides with the celebration of the Golden Jubilee in the United Arab Emirates in December and the country’s 50day Anniversary.

Ahmed Baharoon, Executive Director of EAD Environmental Information, Science and Outreach Management said: “ADIHEX has become an integral part of the EAD calendar because of its importance. Every year we look forward to sponsoring this event through our presence at the dedicated EAD booth With the existence of, we can show our latest environmental protection work.”

Baharoon added: “In order to coincide with the UAE’s 50th Anniversary Golden Jubilee Celebrationday The anniversary commemorates and complements ADIHEX’s theme of this year “sustainable development and inheritance…rebirth desire”, and we look forward to the next 50 years. We want to ensure that we continue to develop sustainably as responsible environmental managers, and that the natural and cultural wealth we inherited from our ancestors can be passed on to our children and our children’s children. “

“This is part of our goal to ensure that we manage our resources wisely, ensure a sustainable supply of clean energy, water and food for future generations, minimize consumption and maximize efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions. Protect and improve our environment, minimize the waste we generate, and promote recycling and a green economy.

“We also want to ensure that Abu Dhabi no longer has species extinctions and promote biodiversity so that 50 years from now, our city will become a beautiful environment that everyone can enjoy. Therefore, we will show vision and Pioneering specific projects, so that our audience can get the latest information about our work at EAD.” Baharun said

EAD will highlight a series of initiatives, including: innovative air quality sampling techniques, projects integrated with artificial intelligence, and opportunities for youth citizen science. This is a supplement to the greenhouse gas inventory and the 2050 Air Quality Co-Benefit Plan, as well as monitoring and research on the characteristics of fine dust to protect the air quality, human health and ecosystems of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

EAD will also showcase a new, first-of-its-kind, world-leading soil monitoring project that uses data from space drones to improve and increase the efficiency of soil monitoring programs, marking the transition from traditional technology to an innovative state- The most advanced method.

Information about EAD’s latest research ship will also be exhibited. The ship is currently under construction and development and will be used for environmental protection and multi-purpose fishery oceanography. The ship is designed for physical, chemical, biological and geological oceanographic research and fishery surveys, and will be equipped with support systems for multidisciplinary research at sea.

In addition, EAD will display its gene bank, which aims to record the genetic resources of local biodiversity plant species and research and protect them through integrated methods including internal and external protection methods to help maintain biodiversity among species Other projects include EAD’s latest smartphone application and sharing the achievements of Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital with the public.

EAD welcomes all visitors to its booth at ADIHEX from 11 am to 10 pm. The booth is located at Hall 8.E10 of ADNEC.
