Designated Autism Certification Center by H Hotel Dubai

H Dubai Hotel has become the first hotel in Dubai to be awarded the title of Certified Autism Center by the International Board of Accreditation and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).

The designation is awarded to organizations that have demonstrated a high level of commitment to ensuring their services are accessible and adaptable for those with autism and sensory sensitivities. This process ensures that hotel staff are better equipped with the knowledge and resources needed to provide a great experience for autistic guests, their families, and others of determination.

Sophie Blondel, General Manager of The H Dubai, said: “We are very proud to be the first hotel in Dubai to be awarded the title of Certified Autism Centre. This program means a lot to our hotel as it reflects our commitment to inclusivity and service excellence A strong commitment to the experience of all our guests.

“We’ve achieved this by working with the Georgetown Early Intervention Center during Ramadan to host awareness sessions for teams and inclusive iftars for families. Our goal is to create a safe, welcoming environment where families and individuals can relax and enjoy their stay with confidence and understanding.”

H Dubai’s achievement is part of a wider initiative by the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) to achieve the Certified Autism Destinationâ„¢ (CAD) designation in Dubai. This designation is given to communities with a high number of trained and certified accommodation, recreation and entertainment options available and accessible to autistic and sensory sensitive individuals and their families. Once realized, this will mark the first CAD in the Eastern Hemisphere.

Essa Bin Hadher, General Manager, Dubai Institute of Tourism, commented: “We are delighted that the team at H Hotels Dubai have completed our new ‘Autism and Sensory Awareness’ course. This is an important step towards our goal of becoming a certified hotel One Step Autism Destination. By equipping our visitor-facing staff with the knowledge and tools to better serve travelers with autism, we ensure all visitors to Dubai have a positive and enjoyable experience.”

As part of its designation as a Certified Autism Centre, H Hotel Dubai underwent an on-site assessment by IBCCES to provide advice and sensory guidance to help enhance the guest experience. These guidelines will allow guests to understand the sensory intensity of each area of ​​the hotel, such as noise levels, lighting and impact on other senses, so they can make an informed decision before entering an area.
