The 43rd Mahzooz weekly live draw set a new record, and 10 lucky participants shared the second prize of 1 million dirhams. The winner matched five of the six winning numbers, and each number took home AED 100,000.
For Sulthan, a 45-year-old Indian expatriate, the bonus came at the right time to save his home from foreclosure.
“In a very dark period in my life, Mahzooz brought a glimmer of hope: I almost lost my dream home because I couldn’t afford to pay for my mortgage in India. Fortunately, luck hit me at the right time. Door, this is the best news for my family,” said Sulthan, who works as a store owner in Dubai.
Jabir, 43, worked as a foreman in Dubai and was another lucky winner from India last Saturday.
“I still can’t believe that I won 100,000 dirhams overnight. I have always wanted to bring my family here so that I can show them this beautiful country and spend quality time with them. I have always missed them. I will use the bonus to take my family to visit the UAE. They are very happy to be here and see this beautiful country, which is my second hometown.”
The other winner in the draw was 53-year-old Hannibal, a Filipino expat who worked in the ambulance service in Abu Dhabi.
He was excited about the victory. He said: “As a father of four children, I have a great responsibility-to provide a decent life for my family. I will use my bonus to provide the best for my children. Educate and fight for a better future for them. After all, they are everything to me.”
58-year-old Ulysses is a Filipino expatriate living in Saudi Arabia. He combined his parents’ birthdays, their death anniversary and their age at the time of death to choose his number.
“When I chose the Mahzooz numbers for this week, I had an intuition that I would be a winner because these numbers are important in my life. Now that I win, I will cherish these numbers even more,” said Yoo, who is a safety manager. Lisis explained.
44-year-old Abu Dhabi resident Nelson is also a Filipino. He is a maintenance supervisor. He said: “I have always dreamed of bringing my family here. Thanks to Mahzooz, I can now realize this long-term dream. And reunited with my family.”
Another winner who plans to use the prize money to improve his children’s future is Bahaa, a 36-year-old Lebanese expat who works as a valuation manager.
Fortunately, the Abu Dhabi resident said: “I have lived in the UAE for 10 years and this country has always brought me good luck. I feel lucky and happy. This money will help me ensure that my children accept better Education.”
The winner Vimesh, a 38-year-old Indian expatriate living in Abu Dhabi, praised Mahzooz’s economic structure. Vimesh, who works as a salesperson for an electronics company, said: “Mahzooz is an attractive place. It gives everyone the opportunity to improve their lives.”
The other three winners, two Filipinos and a Canadian also shared the second prize of 1 million dirhams, and each took 100,000 dirhams home.
Participants can register through www.mahzooz.ae and purchase a bottle of water to participate in Mahzooz. Every bottle purchased (priced at 35 dirhams) is eligible to participate in the lucky draw, and donations are made through Mahzooz’s community partners to hydrate those in need.
The next draw will be held as scheduled on Saturday, September 25th at 9pm UAE time.
