ABU DHABI, 14th June, 2023 (WAM) — President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Interim President of Chad, Mohamed Idriss Déby, witnessed the UAE-Chad The various parties exchanged multiple agreements and memorandums of understanding aimed at advancing areas of bilateral cooperation.
The agreement and memorandum of understanding signed at Al Shati Palace include the following:
– Defense Minister Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi on behalf of the UAE and Defense Lieutenant General Daoud Yahya on behalf of Chad signed a memorandum of understanding in the field of military cooperation.
– The loan agreement between the Republic of Chad and the Abu Dhabi Development Fund, signed by Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Development Fund, on behalf of the UAE and Moussa Batraki, Minister of Economy, Development Planning and International Cooperation of Chad.
– On behalf of the UAE, Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, signed a memorandum of understanding in the energy sector with Djerassem le Bemadjiel, Minister of Petroleum and Energy of Chad.
– Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, on behalf of the UAE, and Abdelkerim Mahamat Abdelkerim, Minister of Mines and Geology, on behalf of Chad, signed a memorandum of understanding in the mining sector.
The Memorandum of Understanding and Agreement Exchange Ceremony was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidency; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed His Excellency Yaed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the Presidential Court on Special Matters; and Sheikh Shahbout bin Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of State Nahyan.
