Today, an unfortunate tragedy hit a community in Tennessee due to gun violence. Earlier, news broke that a Kroger grocery store in Collierville, Tennessee, outside of Memphis, had been shot. When Collierville became popular, everyone turned to Twitter because the details revealed that at least one person was killed and 13 others were injured in the shooting.
according to ABC News, The shooting occurred at about 1:30 pm, and the gunman opened fire. Police said people in the store began to hide in the freezer and locked themselves in the office. An employee fled to the roof and was eventually escorted by the police.A cashier shared details of what happened during the period shootingo WATN, a subsidiary of Memphis ABC. She said that after the gunman shot, she ran into a secret room with the customer. The cashier recalled that the gunman hit an employee in the head, a customer in the abdomen and another employee in the cheek. After that, she said that the gunman had left, but continued to fire.
Kroger is the seventh largest US-owned private employer in the United States and has issued a statement through a spokesperson. “During this difficult time, the entire Kroger family provides our thoughts, prayers and support to the victims’ individuals and families. We are cooperating with local law enforcement agencies, and they have protected shops and parking lots.” The statement continued to advise, in While the police continue to investigate, the store will continue to be closed, and they have provided consulting services to their employees.
Although there is no update on the cause of the shooting, officials did suggest that unidentified shooters die from gunshot wounds they believe they caused. Currently, at least 14 people have been to the local hospital. Hospital staff confirmed that 5 of them are in critical condition and 1 has been discharged.
