ABU DHABI, 18th June, 2023 (WAM) — His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, today discussed the two countries’ recent announcement to upgrade their relations to Prospects for further enhanced cooperation following the strategic partnership.
The top Emirati diplomat met his Italian counterpart in Abu Dhabi on Sunday to discuss bilateral cooperation in all areas, with particular emphasis on economics, trade, energy and others.
The two sides also reviewed climate action cooperation in light of the UAE hosting COP28 in Dubai at the end of this year.
In addition to the regional situation, the two ministers also exchanged views on many issues of regional and international interest.
Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the deep relationship between the UAE and Italy and their ongoing cooperation to develop a strategic partnership to serve their mutual interests and benefit their peoples.
As far as the top Italian diplomat is concerned, he expressed Italy’s determination to strengthen cooperation with the UAE and highlighted the strength of the relationship between the two countries.
He also wished the UAE a successful COP28 this year, commending the country’s efforts in tackling global climate action and its pioneering initiatives to promote clean and renewable energy solutions globally.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for International Cooperation Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi and Minister of State Noura bint Mohammad Kabi.
