The two ABC co-hosts of “The View” suddenly withdrew from the middle of the show after testing positive for COVID-19.
Sunny Hostin and Ana Navarro were asked to leave the stage a few minutes before Vice President Kamala Harris was scheduled to appear on Friday morning.
At first, the audience and other presenters seemed confused by what happened.
“It seems that something happened here that I was not 100% aware of,” said co-host Joy Behar as the show entered a new section. “Can someone inform me of the situation?”

It seems that during the commercial break, the producer provided Joey and co-host Sarah Haynes with clues about what was going on. Joey then tells the audience what happened when the show came back from the commercial.
Joey said: “Since this will be a major news report at any time now, what has happened is that both Sonny and Anna have apparently tested positive for COVID.”
Joey assured fans that these women had received two doses of the vaccine, which officials said would reduce the risk of death or serious illness when exposed to the coronavirus.
“No matter how hard we try, these things will happen, they may have a breakthrough case, I believe they will be fine, because they are all vaccinated,” Joey added.
As a safety precaution, the producer decided not to let Kamala out and decided that it would be safer to let her conduct interviews in a separate area of ​​the studio.
