NCM urges public to take precautions to avoid accidents during rainy and strong winds

Light to heavy rain was experienced across the UAE on Monday evening. The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) urged the public to be cautious during the rain to avoid any accidents.

Parts of Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah were followed by showers after dark clouds formed in the afternoon, according to the centre. Heavy rains hit Dubai’s Maqam and some eastern parts of Sharjah, flooding streets and wadi, according to residents.

In its social media posts, the center urged people to take precautions to avoid accidents during the rain and strong winds.

“Precautions should be taken during periods of intense convective cloud activity associated with rainfall and strong downwinds over some eastern and interior areas. Loose objects and weak structures may become hazardous due to high winds and reduce horizontal visibility,” the report said. A tweet from the center warned.
