The Indian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has invited US President Joe Biden to visit India, adding that New Delhi is looking forward to the visit of US leaders to India “an early and convenient time for both parties.”
“Prime Minister Modi invited President Joe Biden to visit India. President Biden expressed his gratitude and appreciation. We certainly look forward to an early and convenient visit by the President of the United States,” Schringella said in the special briefing.
Prime Minister Modi, who is on a three-day visit to the United States, held the first bilateral meeting with US President Biden and attended the summit of leaders of the Quartet.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Modi praised U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris as “a source of inspiration” and invited her to visit India.
“Your election as the vice president of the United States has always been an important historical event. You are a source of inspiration for many people around the world. I believe that under the leadership of President Biden and you, our bilateral relationship will reach new heights,” Prime Minister Modi said at a joint press conference with Harris after the meeting between the leaders of the two countries.
“Continuing this journey of victory, the Indians also want you to continue this journey in India, so they are waiting to welcome you. I extend an invitation to visit India,” he added.
