Emirates employees get 5% pay rise

Abu Dhabi: Dubai-based Emirates last month announced a 24-week bonus and a 5 per cent pay rise for staff following its record-high profit for the 2022-23 financial year.

Emirates will increase base salary by 5% and offer accommodation and transport incentives.

The company will also increase education support allowances by 10% in September 2023, according to an email sent to employees.

However, the basic salary of employees working abroad will be increased according to the local cost of living.

Shortly after the company announced its results, the group decided to offer employees 24 weeks of bonuses.

The group’s main subsidiaries are Emirates and dnata, which provide ground handling, cargo, travel and in-flight catering, and will have 102,379 employees by the end of the 2022-23 financial year.

The Emirates Group posted a record profit of AED10.9 billion for the financial year ending March 31, 2023, compared with a loss of AED3.8 billion the previous year. Group revenue amounted to AED 119.8 billion, an increase of 81% over the previous year. Although its cash balance has reached an all-time high of 42.5 billion dirhams.
