Bilawal, Zardari ‘discuss important matters with Nawaz’ in UAE

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the supreme leader of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and his father, Asif Ali Zardari, have arrived in Dubai on a special plane, sources said. geographic news on Sunday.

Sources inside the PPP said Zardari will be in Dubai for a few days during which he may meet Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) supreme leader Nawaz Sharif, who arrived in the UAE a day earlier.

The visit to the UAE by Bilawal and Zardari, who also serve as the country’s foreign minister, came amid reports that Nawaz planned to return to the country.

The PML-N top leader has been living in London since November 2019 after being granted court permission to travel to the UK for health reasons.

Big figures from the Muslim League-Northern League-led coalition government are likely to gather in Dubai to discuss key issues, including current economic challenges and the upcoming general election.

Nawaz arrived in Dubai from London on Saturday afternoon, while his daughter and PML-N Senior Vice President Mariam arrived from Lahore at the same time as her son Junaid Safdar and other family members.

The three-time former prime minister is currently staying at the Sheikh Hill residence of Ali Dar, son-in-law of Sharif and son of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, who is married to Mariam’s sister, Asma Sharif.

Earlier today, PML-N Sheikh Nawaz and his daughter Mariam met members of the Dubai royal family upon their arrival in the Middle Eastern country.

According to sources, Nawaz held several key meetings in Dubai where he discussed in detail his roadmap for returning home, including Pakistan’s economic and political future.

PML-N sources said the former prime minister will return to Pakistan in the near future.

The longest discussion took place at a meeting on Sunday afternoon, the sources said, but the participants have not been identified so far.

In particular, the discussions focused on resolving legal disputes that may hinder Nawaz’s return, and it is hoped that a resolution will be found soon.

On the other hand, there are reports that the PML-N supreme leader will spend the first week of July in Dubai with his family for Eid al-Adha. In addition, he plans to hold a special meeting with the royal family in Saudi Arabia.

Hopes of Nawaz’s return to Pakistan were raised after the National Assembly amended a law earlier today to disqualify MPs by up to five years, paving the way for a lifetime ban on those who run for office.
