Five million passengers expected to travel through UAE airports during Eid holiday

According to the airport authority, five million passengers are expected to pass through UAE airports during the peak travel period that began on Friday, June 23 and lasted until early July.

On Saturday, Abu Dhabi Airports expects a significant increase in travel ahead of and during the Eid al-Adha holiday, with Abu Dhabi International Airport seeing more than 900,000 passengers and more than 5,000 flights to 109 destinations in 59 countries.

June 24, 25 and July 2 will be the peak travel days, with a total of 65,000 passengers.

Emirates expects continued growth in passenger numbers in the coming weeks, explaining that bookings show more than 80,000 departing passengers, with a peak in outbound passengers starting June 24, especially ahead of Eid al-Adha.

Dubai International Airport expects that the number of passengers will increase, which coincides with the Eid al-Adha holiday. During the period from June 20 to July 3, the airport will receive 3.5 million passengers, with an average daily passenger flow of 252,000.

Passenger numbers on departing flights are expected to increase by more than 250,000 between June 23 and 25, with passenger numbers hitting 100,000 on Saturday, June 24, according to the airport.

Authorities expect the busiest time to be July 2, when the Eid al-Fitr holiday ends, with total daily passenger traffic exceeding 305,000 passengers.

Sharjah International Airport has announced its readiness to handle the high-paced travel demands of the summer peak season while taking the highest level of measures to ensure a safe travel experience.

It is expected that this summer tourist season will hit a record high, and the airport passenger throughput will exceed 4 million.
