UAE Cabinet Reorganization: Meeting with New Minister-News

Some of them are serving in the Cabinet for the first time, while others have assumed new roles.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced the formation of a new UAE Cabinet on Saturday.

The following is the list of new ministers:

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohamed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has been appointed as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance.

He is the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the First Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Executive Committee and the Chairman of the Court of Dubai Rulers.

He has held a number of leadership positions in the city, his main responsibility is to improve government performance and promote the development of the emirate’s economic sector.

He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Judicial Council, DIFC-Dubai International Financial Center Board of Directors, Dubai Supreme Legislative Council, and the Dubai Executive Council’s Strategic Affairs Committee.

Sheikh Maktoum holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the American University in Dubai. He has obtained many professional development opportunities at Harvard University in the United States and the Mohammed Bin Rashid School of Government in the United Arab Emirates. He was born in Dubai on November 24, 1983.

Mohamed Bin Hadi Ahmed Abdullah Husseini

Mohamed bin Hadi Ahmed Abdullah Husseini is the current Minister of State for Financial Affairs of the UAE, succeeding Obaid Al Thaye.

Al Hussaini is an experienced banker with a solid track record in the financial and investment fields. He serves on the boards of the UAE Investment Authority and Dubai Investment Corporation, as well as the UAE integrated telecommunications company PJSC (du) and UAE NBD.

He was born in 1976 and holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in international business in Switzerland.

Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri

Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Almheiri-former Minister of State for Food and Water Security-became Minister of Climate Change and Environment.

Almheiri has been responsible for monitoring national food stocks, investing in food technology, and following up on international relations in this field.

Prior to this, Almheiri was appointed Minister of State for Food Security after the cabinet reorganization in October 2017. Her responsibilities include overseeing the development of necessary infrastructure in accordance with the UAE’s Centennial 2071 Plan to ensure the country’s food security goals.

Abdullah Bin Muhail Al Kateby

Abdullah bin Muhair Al Ketbi becomes Minister of Affairs of the Federal Supreme Council.

Major General Al Ketbi, Chief of Staff, served as the Commander of the Support Forces of the UAE Armed Forces from 2012 to 2021, a long-term military career in the Army.

He was the director of the office of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the director of the representative office of the rulers of the Al Dafra region of the capital.

As an active participant in many international forums, he is also an important member of many preparatory and organizational working groups and committees in Abu Dhabi.

Al Ketbi holds a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in military science from the Zayed II Military Academy. He was born on June 6, 1956.

Abdullah Bin Sultan Bin Awad Al Nuaimi

Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi was appointed Minister of Justice. He will succeed Sultan Bin Said Badi.

Al Nuaimi is an economist who specializes in financial management and security. He started his career at the Abu Dhabi National Petroleum Corporation, then served as an economist at the Supreme National Security Council, and then as the director of economic affairs of the committee.

He is a board member of the UAE Competitiveness Council and serves on several strategic government committees, including the National Committee to Combat Money Laundering and the Financing of Terrorism and Illegal Organizations; the Strategic Impact Economic Activity Committee; the Supreme Council of Foreign Aid; and the National Covid-19 Crisis Recovery Management and Governance Committee.

He holds a master’s and bachelor’s degree from Boston University (BU) in the United States. He was born in Al Ain on January 1, 1976.

Dr. Abdul Rahman Awar

Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Awar is currently the Minister of Human Resources and the Emirates. He will succeed Nasser bin Thani Juma Al Hamli.

Al Awar is an experienced executive in the public and private sectors. He started his career at the UAE Global Aluminum Corporation and then worked for Dubai Petroleum. He also held senior management positions at Mubadala Investment, Dolphin Energy Limited and HSBC Bank.

He was appointed as the Director of the Human Resources Bureau of the Federal Government in 2009, and served as a member of the Board of Directors of the UAE National Oil Company, a member of the Supreme Council of the National Defense Academy, a member of the University of Dubai, and a member of the Senior Committee. Technical College Board of Directors.

Al Awar received his Ph.D. from the Colorado School of Mines in the United States. He was born on October 21, 1968.
