What UAE residents queue up for over the Eid al-Adha long weekend

[ad_1]

Dubai: Long weekends in the UAE due to the Eid al-Adha holiday mean residents have extra time off to recharge their batteries or achieve a work-life balance.

Hannah Zarah Bhatti, a 33-year-old Filipino, is planning a holiday in Sri Lanka with her husband.

“With its stunning beaches, lush jungles and fascinating history, Sri Lanka will be the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure,” she said.

“I can’t wait to explore the country’s ancient ruins, taste the delicious food, enjoy the sun and the beaches. I hope this will be an unforgettable trip.”

plan to relax

Italian expatriate Andrea Giovannini said he was looking forward to a long holiday with friends at the five-star Saadiya Trotana Resort & Villas in Abu Dhabi.

“The first few days I’ll be working,” Giovanini said. “Then I will find time to head to Saadiyat Beach in Abu Dhabi. We will swim and explore the mangroves of Abu Dhabi, which are always so fascinating to me. Our plan is to relax and do some wellness treatments .”

staycation

Indian expatriate Pratik Pete, 32, was heading to Ras Al Khaimah for a two-day staycation with his wife at a luxury beach house.

“We plan to relax at the resort, swim and enjoy some food. We will return to Dubai and have a good time with friends. The plan is to have a game night with friends and watch a movie. Two days will be allocated for a trip to Abu Dhabi , but I haven’t explored the city enough.”

celebrate with friends

Ejaz Ahmed, a 30-year-old Pakistani expatriate, already has plans for the long weekend.

“I won’t be able to travel to Pakistan to celebrate the occasion with my family. But I will make the most of my time with my friends in Dubai.”

Ahmed said: “On the first day after Eid prayers, I will perform the Qurbani offering and distribute it to people and my neighbors. Sharing is a key element of the celebration and I Will do my part to make sure I give and share to my friends and those in need.”

He added: “On the second day of Eid, I plan to take a long drive to Dalma Island in Abu Dhabi.” On the third day, I will go to Ras Al Khaimah to experience the longest zip line.

Travel plans in jeopardy

Angelica Herradura, 34, a Filipino, and her husband had planned to fly to Armenia for the Eid holiday. But that plan was put on hold and the couple now plan to have a good time with friends in Dubai.

“My husband and I were eagerly awaiting our trip to Armenia and we had booked our Eid holidays a long time ago. But our plans were disrupted when the airline abruptly canceled our flight, throwing our plans into a tailspin. Dropping. We can’t find a reasonable price because most airlines are either fully booked or prices are skyrocketing.”

Despite the setbacks, they found a silver lining in the midst of adversity.

“Our revised itinerary is now within the UAE. We will be driving long distances to other emirates. We are looking forward to singing karaoke with our friends.”
