ABU DHABI: Tom Cruise and the stars of “Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1” walk the red carpet at the film’s Middle East premiere at the Mandarin Oriental, Emirate Palace in Abu Dhabi on Monday night .

“I can tell you that you’re going to find this movie an epic adventure. You’re going to see a very personal journey of Ethan Hunt. That’s why it’s definitely the most important thing we can tell story,” Cruise told Arab News on the red carpet for his role in the film.

Some scenes of the film were filmed in the Liwa desert in the emirate and the midfield terminal of the UAE capital airport.

Klementieff told Arab News about his experience filming with two industry legends.

“Mission: Impossible movies always take you to places you don’t expect, and the characters are always interesting, layered, and unexpected. Working on this movie with (directors) Christopher McQuarrie and Tom Cruise was a real pleasure.” It was amazing. We had a lot of fun, but it was also tough filming. So, we had such an amazing journey,” she said.

The actress also opened up about what it was like to work on the set of “Mission: Impossible.”

“Usually, when it’s too dangerous, they use a green screen, or they use special effects. For example, in this movie, at one point, I have to run on top of a moving train and jump over the carriages, which I like to do. So, it’s pretty cool. I want to do more of this,” she explained.

In 2021, with the support of the Abu Dhabi Film Commission and other local production partners, including twofour54 Abu Dhabi, director Christopher McQuarrie, Cruise and cast and crew will be in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. Filming took almost two weeks.

Cruise flew to the UAE ahead of the film’s Middle East premiere and unveiled a custom Mission: Impossible livery aboard an Etihad Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

This is the second Mission: Impossible film to be partially shot in Abu Dhabi. In 2018, the halo skydiving scene was filmed in the emirate with the help of the UAE military, Abu Dhabi Film Commission and twofour54.

Following its Rome and London premieres, the cast came together to celebrate the film’s release in GCC cinemas on 13 July.

American-British actress Atwell wore a black gown by Saudi designer Mohammed Ashi, founder of Paris-based label Ashi Studio, at the premiere of “Mission: Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 1” in London last week debut.

Atwell starred as Grace in the film, wearing an oversized gown from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2023 Haute Couture collection, paired with a puffed-up satin skirt and velvet top.

In the film, Cruise’s Ethan Hunt and his IMF (or “Mission Impossible Force”) attempt to track down a terrifying new weapon that threatens all of humanity before it falls into the wrong hands.

With the fate of the world at stake and the dark forces of Hunter’s past looming, a deadly race across the globe begins. Facing a mysterious, powerful enemy, Hunter is forced to think that nothing is more important than his mission – not even the lives of those he cares about most.
