A Better World Fund hosted sports and entertainment stars in a two-day event at Expo 2020 to raise awareness of disability – Dubai Blog

The two-day International Day of Persons with Disabilities was held at the Swedish Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai, and finally a star-studded dinner and award ceremony were held at the Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach. French Ambassador to the UAE H Xavier Chatel, Mrs. IngieChalhoub Mrs. IngieChalhoub, Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Minister of Talent Attraction and Retention Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and other distinguished guests attended the event. These events are organized by the Better World Fund, a non-profit organization headquartered in Paris that uses art—especially film—to highlight global issues.

At the event’s dinner, an auction will raise funds for Dubai Care to support the education of poor children in India. In addition, the University of Paris-Saclay and the Foundation for a Better World have signed an exciting new partnership. In this partnership, the Better World Fund will use a global cross-border talent and data platform: academia explores the most innovative and inclusive world related to world education, art, science and sustainable development for a better world solution.

At the red carpet dinner, activists were honored for their work, including jazz singer Melody Gardot, an advocate for music therapy for people with disabilities, who spoke via a video link, and Nora bin Mohamed Alkabi from the UAE , Youth and Minister of Culture, represented by HH Mubarak Al Naki. As part of the event, the UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth and the French Academy screened a four-minute animated film about life with disabilities produced by Fadel AlMheiri and Pierre Filmon, dear mother. Entrepreneur, author, and Wheeling Around the World founder Alexander Bodart Pinto and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Summer Paralympic Judo Gold Medalist Sandrine Martinet-Aurieres are inspiring global speakers.

RemigioMaradona discussed possible solutions to eliminate malnutrition and awarded Manuel Collas de la Roche, president and founder of the Better World Fund, an ambassador. Team Angel Wolf, a non-profit foundation based in the UAE, also attended the event to encourage the inclusion of persons with disabilities and encourage society as a whole to embrace them.
