LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — The First Friday Foundation offers a preview of what attendees can expect from the June event first friday In the Arts District.
The nonprofit said there will be many artists painting live, and June will be the month of painting “outdoors.” The featured artist is Javier Gonzalez. Officially, he is a first-generation Chicano comic illustrator and graffiti currently living in Las Vegas.
“An estimated 60 First Friday artists and crafters will be on hand at the Arts Walk at Boulder Avenue and First Street,” officials said.
Art Walk is located on Boulder Ave. in front of the Arts Factory and 1Yingshi street. The food garden and bar are in the Arts Square parking lot.
This month’s Cindy Funkhouser Residency Space is dedicated to local artist and illustrator Mila May.
More entertainment, music and food trucks will also be held on First Fridays.
Attendees should expect roadworks in the area, officials said.
“Street improvements are expected to delay traffic in the coming months,” officials said in a release. “However, we look forward to beautiful improvements in the area.”
The event is said to start at 5pm and end at 11pm Parking info is available here provided by the organization. Officials also said the downtown loop could serve as an alternative to driving.
