Tell us something about yourself and your company.
I am Juyee Nair, the Operations Head of Sante Barley Middle East. Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam’s quote truly inspires me,” Dream is not that you see in sleep, dream is something that does not let you sleep.” In addition, I believe that leading the team requires setting examples & empowering the team. My mantra is, “a leader leads by example, not by force!’
As a double graduate in Science & English from Calcutta University, India, I am a trained CPD Certified Counsellor & Psychotherapist specializing in ‘Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also hold a diploma in ‘Leadership & People Management skills.’ Specialization in Human Resource Management from London International Studies & Research Center with KHDA certification.
My journey with Sante Barley Middle East started in 2017, and I led the team with two offices in UAE: the Head office in Dubai & branch Office in Abu Dhabi.
Sante Barley Middle East is the first global branch of Main Company Sante International INC. Philippines. The Global branches are UAE, Qatar, Cyprus, Singapore, Macao, Hong Kong, Nigeria & Indonesia.

We heard that Santé started in 2007. What was the idea behind it?
In 2007, the year Sante was born, we learned about the powerful properties of Barley grass. In no time, our product development team researched the wholesome goodness of Barley. The company decided to develop a comprehensive selection of everyday Barley-based products because of Barley’s powerful properties and proven health benefits.
Would you like to tell our users what type of products and services Santé focuses on?
We are focusing more on organic healthy food supplements without any side effects.

Utilizing 100% organic barley grass grown in fertile soils with clean water irrigation and is harvested on the farms of Canterbury Plains of New Zealand, one of the world’s least polluted environments. Our farms are certified organic by BioGro, New Zealand’s leading organic certification agency & which is accredited by the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements. The certificate guarantees that no unsafe levels of heavy metal, herbicide, and insecticide residues are used during the cultivation process.
How do you think the wellness products market is going in the UAE?
The wellness market was always good in UAE; however, post-pandemic, the inclination towards wellness & health has taken a huge leap, and people have become more conscious regarding what they choose for themselves & their families. People have become much more aware of health, fitness, and good food habit & choices. The most searched things both online and offline are organic & natural food products & supplements.
Could you tell us something about Santé Fitness Lab?
We have our own Fitness Lab in the Philippines and are soon planning to launch one in Dubai, UAE. With the hashtag #liveMoreDoMore
We heard that Santé was awarded the distinguished Asia CEO Awards for the years 2019 & 2020. What are your views about this achievement?
The CEO of Sante International, Mr. Joey Marcelo, has been awarded the Regus Entrepreneur Of the Year, the ‘Circle of Excellence’ Awardee of SME Company of the year, and the 10th Asia CEO Awards 2019-2020.
Mr. Joey Marcelo being the leader of Santé was one of the best experiences for all the employees worldwide. He was the highest source of motivation for the Santé Global Team to thrive and keep ahead & be motivated during the challenges & tough times.
Santé first started with Barley. What benefits do you think Barley can provide to consumers? Why did Santé start specifically with this product?
Sante researched & Started with Barley grass as it’s recognized by science as the most nutritious among all green food. Barley grass contains various essential vitamins, minerals, amino acids, antioxidants, and enzymes required to have proper functioning organs & immune systems.

How do you plan to offer enhanced wellness and well-being to humankind over the coming few years?
Apart from being just health conscious and picking up anything for your own consumption from the stores & supermarket, it’s better to research the one best for you. As life has become busier, and so has our lifestyle, and we are all chasing a better life, we need to rather take a break and give some time & thoughts to ourselves and calm down to listen to our own body & soul.
Before we feed ourselves anything & everything, why not first detoxify ourselves and restart the journey with better choices. Santé will bring the options of better choices with our products along with special training on the product & their benefits with the freedom to choose the best for you and lead a better & healthy life onwards.
Do you have any advice for our viewers in terms of their well-being?
I would always recommend to everyone to lead an active life both mentally & physically along with good, healthy & natural food consumption. Nevertheless, as everyone is unique the same way everyone has to find out his or her own type of food habit and physical lifestyle. Do not blindly follow the trend but know yourself and your body very well first.
