This Texas family recently added another racehorse to their stable and decided to give it a name worth mentioning! Apparently, the Hartleys were the first African-Americans in the southern state to compete in quarter horse races. Now, with their newest addition, Hatley’s has found a way to always make an impression on the track – win or lose. They named their horse “Black Lives Matter”.
“We named him Black Lives Matter because we knew he was special and wanted to bring our culture to the sport,” Keeundra Hatley Smith of the family told shade room.

Keeundra shared that her father Ke’elronn Hatley and uncle James Hatley Jr. own Black Lives Matter. Owning horses, training, riding and racing are deeply rooted in their family roots. Keeundra’s grandfather was the one who broke the first record mentioned above. He raced from the 60’s to the early 90’s. Now, Ke’elronn and James are creating their own legacy.
“Despite the many hurdles we faced in trying to legally name him a ‘Black Lives Matter’ issue, we knew he would overcome and make history,” Kiendra said. “With so much police brutality, we wanted to bring attention and awareness to his name.”
Black Lives Matter The horse became an overnight viral sensation. Keeundra shared a video showing horse racing in the Louisiana Hills. The horse started almost from last, then quickly overtook the others and won the race.
kiendra told total shareholder return Black Lives Matter has hosted four games. However, the Louisiana Downs moment marked the horse’s first victory. The video shows Black Lives Matter outperforming all other competitors. The announcer at the event can be heard repeating Hartley’s horse name over and over.
As of Friday afternoon, the post had been live on TikTok for a day, with more than 1.3 million views and more than 5,000 comments. Black Lives Matter is scheduled to compete again in April 2022.
