Nick Cannon ‘broken mentally and emotionally’ a year after his son Zen’s death.
The 42-year-old spoke on Instagram about the “painful” anniversary of the death of the child he had with Alyssa Scott in June 2021 after the youngster gave birth that year Lost combat to brain cancer in December.
He said on the platform on Monday (12/5/22): “Tossing and turning all night, as far as I know I need to rest, I couldn’t sleep at all last night.
“I can’t believe it’s been a year since the hardest day of my life happened.
“Losing a child has got to be the heaviest, darkest and most depressing experience I’ll ever get over. The mixture of guilt, pain and grief is something I repress every day.
“I’m far from perfect, make mistakes and make decisions in my life that a lot of people question, but anyone who knows me knows my heart.
“I try to love, I love big, I love with all my heart, and I only wish my little ones felt more of that love when they were on Earth.”
The “Masked Singer” host added: “Continue to rest in peace my son, Zen Scott Cannon. We love you forever.”
Cannon confirmed his paternity the following month after model Alyssa, 29, said on Instagram in October that she was pregnant with her third child.
Nick has had four more children this year – son Legendary, five months, with Bre Tiesi and two-month-old daughters Onyx and Lanisha Cole, followed by son Rise, also two months, with Brittany Bell and Daughter beautiful, three weeks, with Abby de la Rosa.
He is also father to twins Moroccan and Monroe, 11, and ex-wife Mariah Carey, son Golden, 5, and daughter Powerful, 2, who are also with Brittany and 17-month-old twins Zion and Zillion and Abby.
But he hinted that he could have more children, as when Billboard asked him last month if he planned to add to his family, he replied he “didn’t know.”
The actor added: “I don’t know, man, I think I’m fine now.”
